Request for quote (RFQ)
Turn a purchasing need into an RFQ suppliers answer on equal terms: clear specs, quantities and delivery terms, one quote format and a firm deadline.
Prompt
Write an RFQ for a Midwest appliance manufacturer sourcing injection-molded plastic housings for the year. Purpose: get several suppliers to quote on the same basis so offers can be compared side by side. Requirements: state the RFQ number, deadline and how to submit, tabulate parts, specifications, materials, annual volumes and delivery lots, set out quality standards, certifications and sample requirements, the delivery point and Incoterms, and attach a quote template with a cost breakdown, plus currency, tax basis, payment terms and evaluation criteria. Keep the tone formal and unambiguous.
