# Weekly Product & Marketing Sync — Notes (synthetic test document)

Attendees: Maya (PM), Daniel (Engineering lead), Priya (Design), Tom (Marketing), Lena (Customer Success), Omar (Data)

## 1. Release status for v3.4

Daniel opened with the release status. The new export flow is code-complete, but QA found two regressions in the CSV importer: dates in DD/MM/YYYY format are parsed as MM/DD/YYYY when the day is 12 or lower, and files larger than 40 MB time out after 60 seconds. Daniel said the date bug is a one-line fix, but the timeout needs the importer to stream rows instead of loading the whole file into memory. Maya asked whether we can ship v3.4 without the streaming change. After some back and forth, the group agreed to ship on the original date with a documented 40 MB limit, and move streaming to v3.5.

Decision: v3.4 ships with a documented 40 MB import limit; streaming importer moves to v3.5.

Daniel will fix the DD/MM/YYYY date parsing bug and get it through QA by October 24.

There was a side discussion about whether the importer should warn users before they upload a large file. Priya thought a warning on the upload screen would reduce support tickets. Lena agreed, noting that about a third of last month's importer tickets were about large files. Nobody objected, but it was not assigned in the meeting because Priya wants to check it against the new upload screen designs first.

## 2. Onboarding redesign

Priya walked through the new onboarding checklist. User testing with eight participants showed that most people skipped the "connect your data" step because the button label said "Integrations", which people read as an advanced feature. Priya proposed renaming it to "Import your first file" and moving it to step one. Maya liked the change but wants numbers before committing engineering time.

Omar said he can pull the funnel data showing how many new accounts reach the import step and how many complete it, split by signup source. Omar will deliver the onboarding funnel report to Maya by October 23.

Priya will update the onboarding checklist mockups with the renamed first step and share them with the team by October 27.

Tom asked if the new checklist could include a short video. Priya said maybe in a later iteration; no action for now.

## 3. Pricing page experiment

Tom summarized the pricing page test. The variant that showed annual pricing first had a slightly higher click-through to checkout, but the sample is still small (about 1,900 visitors per arm) and the difference is within the noise. Omar confirmed the result is not statistically significant yet.

Decision: keep the experiment running for two more weeks before deciding.

Tom will extend the pricing page experiment and set a reminder to review results on November 3. Tom also mentioned that the FAQ section on the pricing page is outdated (it still mentions the old free tier). Lena offered to rewrite it since she gets the related questions every day. Lena will rewrite the pricing page FAQ and send the draft to Tom by October 29.

## 4. Customer feedback

Lena shared the top three themes from last month's support tickets: large file imports (already discussed), confusion about team seat billing, and requests for a dark mode. On seat billing, customers do not understand that removing a seat only takes effect at the next billing cycle. Maya said this is a copy problem, not a billing logic problem.

Maya will draft new copy for the seat billing explanation in the account settings page by October 28.

Dark mode was discussed briefly. Priya said the design system is not ready for it and it should not be promised to customers. Decision: no commitment on dark mode this quarter; Lena will tell customers it is on the long-term list but not scheduled.

## 5. Data and reporting

Omar raised that the weekly dashboard double-counts users who log in from both web and desktop. He traced it to a join on device ID instead of account ID. Daniel asked whether this affects any numbers reported to leadership. Omar said yes: weekly active users were overstated by roughly 6% for the last four weeks.

Omar will fix the dashboard deduplication (join on account ID) by October 22. Maya will tell leadership about the corrected WAU numbers in the next leadership update on October 30.

## 6. Miscellaneous

Daniel mentioned the staging server will be down for maintenance on Saturday morning. No action needed from anyone else.

Tom asked if anyone had capacity to review the new blog post about CSV import tips. Priya said she might have time next week but could not commit. Not assigned.

Next sync: same time next week.
